It's that time of year again! We're busy nominating for The Virtual Cheese Awards.
It's a competition like no other. Born during the Covid-19 pandemic, they’ve now held two successful awards in 2020 and 2021, attracting hundreds of cheesemakers from all across the Great British Isles.
Their aim is to create a sustainable, inclusive and transparent cheese awards, which both supports and celebrates British cheesemakers, from the grassroots up.
We’re proud to announce, The Cheese Merchant will be supporting again this year, by sponsoring the Best English Cheese Trophy.
We caught up with Kara Bowen, Sponsorship Manager and asked her - why should cheesemakers enter?
Well, who doesn't love to WIN an award?
Not only does it raise the profile and celebrate the magnificent work you (the cheesemakers) do but gives the customer a sign that there is something very special about your product.
It raises morale, boosts productivity and ultimately generates more sales! Cheesemakers and creameries love the new approach. Don't just take our word for it, this is what previous winners have said:
